Can MS hug really be this frequent or is it something else???

Can the MS hug keep recurring over weeks???

The reason I am asking when I have had this before, I maybe would not have another bad attack for another month or so. But for the past 2 weeks or just over, I am getting about 2 to 3 hug sensations a day, some lasting from 10mins to a good 30mins, some just on my back/rib area & others going from back/rib area to the front. Some hurt more than others. Even little things like washing a fews pots can set it off, why is this?

Has anyone else experienced it like this at all, if so what is the longest? I am taking Baclofen which at the start of taking it did help, but now I am not so sure.

Are there tips to maybe stop them from happening this often??

Thanks in advance
Loubyxxx

Thank-you girlies for responding back to me, I know I am not alone with this & this can be the norm at times just thought it was something that happened once in a while not this frequent, good way of getting out of washing up (I wish!!!) Its just starting to get me down now.

Lulu- I have booked a appointment for Monday coming, to see if I can up my Baclofen, at the moment I am on 30mg a day. I will discuss with her regarding what is happening, as this cannot go on much longer now being in Limboland, my body is telling me something is wrong.

Thanks again!!!

I think that aggravating the intercostal muscles with exercise would set it off.  You might try applying heat directly to the area, as the muscles are spasming.

Im not dx, just possible. But I experience this MS hug sensations and I have been getting it just as you say. On and off lasting 10 min s to half an hour. The longest was 4 hrs before I managed to sleep but by morning It felt really sore and bruised. That one went right the way around.

Yes, that hug can come and go.  I'm sorry you are suffering with it.  Have you called your consultant and asked for advice?  Perhaps you need to increase the baclofen dosage?

feel better,
