I was an artist and spent 12 hours in the same position at my easel. I got one of those big exercise balls. But instead of round it is oval dumbbell shaped so I do not fall off it. I sat on it. It helped with my core. I know you can't do that but may be a PT could help. I also stretched every half hour. A PT can be a big help with this. They can tell the right stretches to do. Yoga might help as well. I also take Zanaflex through out the day. I had cramping so bad that I had to give up being a potter. You are hunched over a wheel all day.

Alex,
The doctor told me to move around more. I do get up and spend time moving around in the morning doing receiving for the company I work for. This does help. Most of the episodes are let morning or in the afternoon. Work is busy and I unfortunately spend a lot of time in my seat spending money. LOL I am a purchasing agent.
Thanks Corrie I was looking at the ergonomic chairs but was not sure if that was what I needed. Will look into an occupational therapist and see if that will help. I have been episode free for around 3 weeks so I am hoping things are settling down. I seem to feel much better know that it is colder and and the humidity of the summer is gone and less time at work with the holidays has helped. Back to the grind this week so time will tell.

I would get an assessment too. What would work for me may not work for you. The Herman Miller chairs are good. It might also mean getting up every few minutes and stretching.

Hi, good to hear from you.
Your best bet is to get an ergonomic assessment. If you have short legs like me chairs are only part of our problem.
Maybe an Occupational Therapist where you work could get you started?
