I noticed on my refferral to the MS Specialist

I noticed on my referral to the ms specialist that my neuro put.  Consultation - R/O MS vs Clinially Isolated Syndrome.

Do you think he will let me have an MRI with their 3 tesla machine?  With a consultation will he check me out?

It never hurts to ask straight up.

It would seem to me that if he wants the doctor to r/o MS then there would be a need to have the most upto date information.  It would also seem it would be prudent to do the MRI for comparison.

I agree with doni and kathy ask it can't hurt.  The worst case scenerio...he tells you he doesn't think it is necessary.  At which time you can ask why and argue your case...like kathy.

Good luck

Hey, what better way to rule out MS vs. a clinically isolated syndrome that by having a current 3T MRI!

I think it is reasonable; a consultation can lead to being sent for tests, as far as I know.

As doni says, it doesn't hurt to ask!  I would if I were you.

Hi Nette,

I don't know if he will or not since it is listed as a consultation.  But if he doesn't mention it, you can!!!  Maybe he will order this for you, it can't hurt to ask anyway.

Best of luck with the appt, let us know how it goes.
