Second opinion Neuro. Appt tomorrow

Wanted to let all of you spectacular MedHelp friends know that tomorrow is the day I have been waiting for...almost several months in the making! I meet with the second neurologist tomorrow, he is MS board certified. I have NO idea what to expect, but thankfully I also have a nurse advocate coming with me. She is going to be my second set of ears. This is her profession and she has offered her services to me for free as she has taken an interest in my story and is inspired by the fact that I am a nursing student, as well.

Many of you know my story, but I am full of a lot of emotions right now...excited, anxious, hopeful, etc..not sure what to expect, I just hope this neuro. is compassionate and willing to work with me and not dismiss my symptoms as the first neuro. did. I am 22 and never thought I would be this excited about going to see a doctor lol, but we will see what happens...

Bless you all! You have NO idea how happy and blessed I have been to be able to get to know some of you these past few months. You are all angels to me!

Thank you all for the prayers...they mean so much to me and no matter what happens, I just hope that I continue to believe that this is all going on for a reason...some reason that I will be able to look back upon and know that it made me that much better of a person, a better nurse, and a stronger woman. I pray for all of you, too.

Shell-I am not real sure about the board certification being similar or not...all I know is that this neuro. has more experience with MS patients, and also a specialist in balance disorders, so I am hoping he is the ONE to help me and I don't have to find a 3rd neuro. Although, I know it's very possible I may have to...I try not to think about that tho!

I will bring more updates to you all tomorrow. My appt. is at 12 noon!

This IS good news!  I'm excited for you!

What a great nurse and friend you have there. So nice that she's going with you.

Is the MS board certification similiar to the nurses international assoc?  Thinking I should know this, but if I ever did know, I'm not remembering.

Looking forward to the post-appt. news.

I'm excited for you, too!  Very nice to have a nurse advocate so interested that she's volunteering her time; wonderful, actually.

You've been quite the blessing yourself on this forum, you know.

My thoughts and prayers are going with you tomorrow, too.

Wishing you the very best experience,

Kathy

Oh, big hugs!  You are in my prayers and I will be thinking of you tomorrow.  That's great that you have a nurse advocate going with you.  I am hoping for the answers you need.  Your attitude is an inspiration to me.
I have my 2nd opinion with an MS specialist on July 15th...counting down the days.
