Blurry vision only in the evenings

Hi all! I have had vision issues on and off for over a year and a half caused by a lesion somewhere on an occipital lobe, but no optic neuritis.

The last week or so the left eye seems to be quite blurry in the evenings. No pain, swelling or redness and I have an updated rx in my glasses and eye exam was fine a couple of months ago.

I am trying to figure out if this is related to MS or not.

Thoughts?

Thank you!
Corrie

I think it's possibly MS related, because unilateral visual issues are the more common visual sx in MS, and if your visual issues have already been connect to a lesion on your occipital lobe. I'm thinking, it's more likely what you already know and not an additional but unrelated to MS issues.

If your more fatigued, or in a warmer environment or brighter light at the end of the day, any of those factors could help explain why your vision is more blurred in the evenings but it would still be worth mentioning these visual changes with your ophthalmologist or optomistrist.

Cheers...........JJ

I think it's hard to pin down visual issues related to MS. My visual issues are not related to my optic nerve or occipital lobe.

Mine are nystagmus related. The nerves that conduct messages from my brain to the muscles that control my eye movement are damaged. This results in the eye muscles getting messages they cannot interpret. Every time I wake up I see double for 2-3 minutes. Once I'm fully awake the messages seem to get through uncorrupted and the double vision clears.

While there are areas of overlap, MS vision issues are much the same as the rest of MS, unique to each of us :-)

Thanks JJ!  i am actually just getting over a cold with a fever so I am hooing it isn't the start of a relapse.

My optometrist can't help and my opthalmologist said he didn't need to see me again unless the vision got bad like the first time. Even then, he did not recommend steroids so I guess I will ride it out and add it to my list for my neuro appt in May. :-)
