Hi Jenn and welcome,
I had a brief look at your posting history to see if you'd provided any other information to help understand your situation, the symptom descriptive(s) you've mentioned before doesn't sound suggestive or consistent with a neurological condition like MS.....something is definitely going on but i'm doubtful your answer will be MS.
You mentioned your brain MRI wasn't abnormal but did you have any clinical signs of neurological abnormality, or was your neurological assessment normal too?
MS isn't a genetic inheritable condition, your cousin being dx with MS doesn't increase your probability of having MS, you actually only have a slight increase when there is a closer family connection eg mother, father, sister, brother but it's a lot more common to be the only member of your family with MS.
Your symptoms are more wide spread ie both arms, both legs, radiating etc than what typically happen's when the symptoms are caused by brain and or spinal cord lesions. You mention experiencing "redness in my hands and legs and feet" that accompanies the pain and weakness etc, MS wouldn't generally be the most likely explanation of those types of symptoms or pattern, off the top of my head it sounds like there might be a vascular circulation issue.
You've later developed bilateral visual symptoms, when you say "my left eye it's twitching uncontrollably throughout the day" do you mean the eyeball or the eyelid?
Hope that helps.....JJ
Hi Jenn!
I would first suggest that you see your Gp and have him refer you for a sleep study. Waking up feeling like you've already worked out is a red flag, and poor quality of sleep can cause a host of neurological issues.
Two kinds of sleep apnea, restless leg, twitching can all contribute to poor sleep. Sleep deprivation makes your nervous system go crazy. Btdt.
Second, all over twitching can be caused by vitamin or mineral deficiencies, in particular magnesium (which is also important for maintaining vitamin d levels).
Make sure you're not deficient in D, B12 or magnesium (the blood serum test isn't so accurate but for me it showed a deficiency despite 9 months of supplementing.)
Low mg can not only cause twitching, but contributes to anxiety and depression - very important mineral.
These two things are your best next step as you regroup. I agree with JJ; not typical for ms at all.
I do have ms but I had all these "all over" symptoms on top of my textbook ms relapses, which confused my neurologist and delayed my diagnosis.
I hope this helps as you make plans to figure this thing out!
