Hi and welcome,
I think your saying that your not expecting to be diagnosed with MS but something similar or connected with MS, if that is what your meaning i'm guessing it would less likely to be Transverse Myelitis because you mention your eyes as well as hands and legs, and more likely to be Neuromyelitis optica (NMO), also called “neuromyelitis” or Devic's disease or neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) which is a lot rarer than MS, it's the only similar condition i'm aware of that is the autoimmune disease of the central nervous system that primarily attacks the optic nerves and spinal cord....

Above is an article on treatment options NMOSD but to be honest with you it's very hard to come up with any ideas that 'might' be helpful without a true understanding of what dx is causing your issues, sometimes the brutal reality is more a matter of if it's permanent, improvable or recoverable.....your undiagnosed right so at this stage the only options you may have to try are doing things like wearing full finger or finger-less gloves to provide a barrier to help negate the uncomfortable touch reactive sensations of cold metal etc anything else though may not be in your best interest if it could potentially cause more hard to you than good.
IF you are potentially facing something like NMOSD and you have yet to see a neurologist, i'd recommend you consider either your self or your GP calling the neuro clinic to ask for an earlier appointment and or asking for them to call you if anyone cancels their appointment....unfortunately i do not have anything more helpful!
I hope it helps though......JJ
