FDA Advisory Panel - Fingolimod

As you've probably heard, they're fast-tracking fingolimod to possibly be ready by this fall.

I love the idea of a pill, but I'm scared of the possible risks.  Another of the possible risks not mentioned in the article is the cropping up of cancers.  Again this was more with the 1.25 mg dose.

Tysabri is scary enough...

If anybody is really interested in the FDA's decision making process, apparently they're going to webcast the discussion on June 10, from 8:00 a.m. EDT to 5:00 p.m. EDT.

I heard a MS Specialist  who is involved in the trials  give a talk about it. He said it is much more risky than the DMDs of today. He said it is really for those who the DMDs will not work for. He said the better an MS drug is the higher the risks because they suppress the immune system.  I will let others play guinea pig on this one.
