FOUND ANOTHER LESION

Hey everyone!

Just want to start by saying, thank you to all who posted on my last question, it was much appreciated.
Okay, I went back to the neuro last week, and told him about the shadow images I've been seeing everyday now. Also, the facial spasms in my cheeks and around my mouth, and the bad forgetfulness, and word find problems, i keep typing my words backwards too its weird.

Anyway did the  brain, neck, and thoracic spine mri 3T.  Havent gone back to see him yet but did see my primary today, and he had the reports from the tests. It shows a new lesion in the brain.  When i saw my neuro eye doc I told him about the weird images i was seeing and he told me there was probably an abnormality in the frontal lobe somewhere near the optic nerve and that i needed another mri very soon.  So he was right, but I dont just have the eye weirdness going on, I also have the facial spasms and some other things, oh almost forgot my bladder dysfunction.  My urologist keeps asking me what my neuro is waiting for in dx me.

So there we have it, he has to give me some kind of explanation on what is wrong with me.  I still dont know if he is gonna say MS or something else.  But, he told me he wouldnt dx me with just the one lesion, so now I have 2.

What do you guys think at this point?

Hugs Hugs and more Hugs!

Hi Sandie:

I'm not a neuro but I think by the time I'm done studying MRI films, I should be qualified!  LOL.

Anyway, I am diagnosed with MS and can say that some of the things you've mentioned are things I dealt with at one point or another.

I had hemifacial spasms that lasted 6 months.  It started with my eye, moved to my cheek near my mouth and then started with my lip jerking (24/7) before they got it under control.  This was definitely my MS but it can be caused by pressure on one of the cranial nerves, too.

I'm sorry if I missed a previous post where you may have mentioned this but do any of your neurological tests he performs on you indicate anything?  For example - I am positive for Babinski sign - which is observable by the Neuro.  When I am having a flare, I have hyper reflexes, too.  +3  to +4.  These are things I can't fake so the doctor has something besides my compaints to verify what I've been telling him/her.  And, do you have any O bands?  I'm sure you've heard this before but there are some other medical issues than have symptoms that mimic MS.

I know how frustrating it was for me before I had a firm diagnosis. I hope you're able to get an answer and get on treatment sooner rather than later!

Keep us posted.

.Jen.

Hemifacial spasms? Can those cause asymmetry between your eyes and a little fluttering when you move it?

@Sandie, hang in there. It sounds like you will have a better idea soon.

I think it is time for a dx or a damn good explanation on what brings two lesions.  If not, I would be out the door finding another neuro...like yesterday.
