Can Dental surgery cause a relapse?

The oral surgeon did a dental implant for me almost two weeks ago.  Since then my left arm has been completely tingly, my balance is off and my vision is also off.  It's not nearly as bad as my last flare was in October 2011, but I had just had my second Tysabri infusion and was feeling pretty darn good.  I'm not sure if I should call my neuro or just try to ride it out.  I have acupuncture on Saturday and that usually helps my symptoms a little.  I'm just not sure what to do.

I went to acupuncture this morning.  She's a chinese medical doctor from Hong Kong.  She said I'm definitely having a relapse.  Insurance doesn't cover it, but I'm going in again this week to get it under control so I can get my infusion next week!

Why do I get the feeling your Neurologist wasn't "listening" to you? (snorts)

Aargh is right!

My neurologist just called me back.  She told me to just keep track of my blood pressure so we could talk about it at my next appointment.  I don't think that's the issue here.  Aargh!

How peculiar you wrote this and I'll tell you why.

On June 19th I had a tooth extraction.  It went completely well! No pain afterwards either.  The next day I go photographing at the beach, hours later I get up to leave, go to the water and rinse the sand off, chatted with a couple people walking by, then on my merry way back to the car.

I became suddenly and increasingly short of breath, my muscles felt weak and worsened the more I walked.  It felt like the only thing holding me up was my bones!  I ended up falling completely b/c I didnt have the muscle strength to stand!  Like it went away completely!  During this time, I had incont. of urine and stool.

I thought to myself perhaps it was the tooth extraction from the day before even though I had no pain or discomfort at all from the procedure. (IV sedation).

It is moments like this that makes me wonder, but then again, it could of been heat exhaustion -- plain and simple.

But yes, as I have heard and seen, stress such as what you had done can initiate symptoms.

Definitely tell the Neuro about the vision issue.

Hope you're feeling better!

Yes any surgery or illness can cause a relapse. It does not always but it can. The vision makes me say call the Neuro.
