Hi, sorry I'm getting to you so late.  As far as anything I've read:

1) reduced GFR - I cannot think of a single mechanism in MS that would do this.  It makes me wonder more about a vasculitis-causing disorder like one of the autoimmnune mimics of MS.  Lupus especially can hit the kidneys hard.

2) Pelvic organ prolapse - again no, unless complete loss of the sphincter muscles as can occur usually in late stage MS, allowed this to happen.  It would be more likely in someone who already had weakened pelvic structure.

3) GERD - I have heard yes and no on this.  GERD is very common and could happen coincidentally with MS.  Some people claim that MS can cause autonomic neuropathy and thus you could get weakness or paralysis of the gastric musculature, called gastroparesis.  In this the stomach has severely delayed emptying time.  This can cause mor e severe reflux.  My MS neuro says no to this. But, I have read reports of it.

4) Chronic cough can have many causes.  It often accompanies GERD.  MS does not lower one's resistance to infection.  Asthma can cause chronic cough but is unrelated to MS.  I can't see a direct connection at all.

Basically without reaching really far I cannot think of a connection between MS and those things.  The first I find the most concerning.  The other three are more common, but cough deserves the most attention.  Are we talking about you?

The two things that stood out for me were the cough and the renal insufficiency.  These made me think of vasculitis and also of sarcoidosis.  Both are known mimics of MS.  What's up?  What's happening that makes you ask this?

Good to see you here, Rose.  We have gotten busy and a little less intimate, but we're still trying.
