Started hurting and a new MRI Monday

Well, a couple of weeks ago I had spasticity in my feet and calfs.  When I git up yesterday morning, it had moved to my quadriceps in both legs. They really only hurt standing up and sitting down.  Once I;m up or down, no problem.  Last night it was my abdominal muscles.  This AM it was my Quads, ABS and my neck and upper back (trapezius muscles.)  Been trying to sit still and get them to relax.

Then the hospital called to schedule my follow up MRI. Maybe they will have something to look at this time.  Being a University Hospital is a bit interesting.  They asked me if I wanted an evening or nighttime MRI .  Guess they run their machine around the clock.

Well, I guess we see what the new data will show.

I wonder if you would benefit from baclofen, too!  I would talk to the neuro about your symptoms, so that they can get you something to help you feel better.

Hi Bob,

Hope the new imaging gets you closer to a dx.

The existing damage you have can cause spasms too. I had tremor in my hand, well actually it was my fingers but moreso in my thumb during and after my 1st attack.

Lulu, It's about 8 months since the last MRI.  It could be an attack.  I guess it can't be a replace since I'm a Limbo Lander.  My current diagnosis is: 341.9 Demyelinating disease of central nervous system, unspecified

Pamela, the pain I'm having is in the big muscles on the front of the thigh.  They're fine as long as I don't try to make them do much work.  I can walk, but standing up and sitting down causes pain and shaking.  The big trapezius muscles in my back are tight and movement of my head, forward, backward, rotating to the right or left causes pain from the back of my head to the middle of my back.

Interesting, but not fun.  If I kind of sit in one place its not that bad. I also have a tremor in my left hand that is new. It comes and goes and is kind of mild, but makes typing more difficult.  This forum isn't bad, with spell check and backspace, but instant messaging is  a mess.

Bob,  I hope you feel better soon. Good luck to you!! How long does this spasticity last! What does it feel like? Is it a cramping tightening feeling?

How long has it been since your last MRI? I am curious to know if the spasms are an indication that you are in a relapse or if it is just another set of symptoms acting out.

Round the clock MRI's - yep, got to love those university hospitals.

feel better,
Lulu
