Just saw my opthomologist...

Apparently, even with all of my right eye pain, pressure, and 'swelling', all is fine, or  should I say, healthy.  She says all the symptoms are probably 'referred', stemming from all the other symptoms I have had, at the same time.  So, there is one more 'test' taken!  We shall see.  I am going to be scheduled for a C-spine MRI, next.  Thanks for listening.   Jan.

Karen...yes, I have had a BI for eleven years now...it has been challenging, for sure.  I am a lot better than the first few years, tho.  My neuro has been handling my BI issues.  He is the same one who is now handling my new symptoms.  There are many similar symptoms, to be sure...but my new ones came on me, about three years ago, suddenly...I remember I thought I was having a stroke.  I have no idea why I didn't go to the doc, at that time.  Maybe my brain was impacted more, temporarily, due to the new symptoms, and I just didn't think about it.  Anyway...I am getting checked out now!   Thanks for your thoughts...and I wish your friend with the BI, the best!  And you, too, Karen!   Take care.  Jan.

Whoa, Jan - you have BI? That brings on a whole host of symptoms by itself.

A colleague had TBI and is still recovering a year and half later. Apparently the brain doesn't like being knocked about. ;-) Some of the 'brain' things she's dealing with are similar to the MS brain things I deal with. Makes interesting conversations and for some reason, we always understand each other :-D

Are your docs taking care of BI for you? Eye pain might begin with injury to the brain. Optic stuff is right up there in the brain. MRI and GOOD neuro will help narrow things down for you.

My eyes only feel swollen but not physically swollen. But ophthalmologist knew that MS lesions in brain at optics was causing pain, DV, etc.

Best of luck with MRI and finding answers. Keep us posted.

Blessings, Karen

JJ...I DO get migraine-like headaches, from time to time, and then I have daily headaches, varying in intensity, the rest of the time.  Most of the time, it seems to be the barometric pressure, which affects them (storms make them worse).  I never had a headache in my life, until my brain injury...very frustrating.

So, yes, my eyes are apparently very healthy (she said that the sunglasses that I wear most of the time, due to light sensitivity, have helped keep my eyes healthier).  Would it be the opthamologist, who would diagnose ON, normally?

I tell you...I get tired hearing that there is nothing wrong with me...I went through all of that, with my BI (although, my PCP believed me, at least).  Sorry for the vent.  I will just keep taking it, one step at a time.  C-spine MRI next!   Thanks, all (and JJ and Max!).  Jan.

Hey Jan,

Are you saying, there is nothing at all abnormal with your eyes? If that is what's happened, i wonder if your eye pain, pressure etc could be caused by something like migraine. Let us know how the MRI's go!

Cheers.........JJ

Isn't it strange, how you can have pain in one part of your body- and have it be caused by a problem somewhere else entirely??
