My first hurricane, yikes!

I am in Mobile Al. and am hoping and praying for all of us.
Any additional prayers from y'all would be great.
Dr. Hubby will be working.
USA is the only trauma 1 center for miles and miles.  I am sure I won't see him much. :-(
As soon as I can get back on-line again I will reply to my post from this week.
Got to go.  To much to do and not enough time to do it in.
Best Regards to everyone!
Kelly

Honey, prayers on the work right now! i have been praying for those in the path of the hurricane for hours, since Sunnytoday was supposed to evacuate and she didn't post back.
Kelly, if you have to evacuate, PLEASE do it NOW. Don't wait, don't hesitate. Is there a basement at your place? where are you thinking of keeping yourself safe? Cause that is the most important thing, STAY SAFE. If the place you're at is not 100% safe, or you don't feel safe and are all alone, grab your essentials and get out of there. Get a bag ready now and make sure you are not alone, that you have communication and all the essentials, flash light, etc.
Please, don't mind keeping us posted. We'll still be here! just go and get safe. Do it for your family and specially for hubby.
Sending love and prayers your way and asking the good Lord to keep you both safe,
Hugs,
Farrah

South of I-10 (20 miles south of us) had manditory evacuation.
I am about 10 miles west of downtown and the Bay, no evacuation posted for us.
Our neighbors helped us to prepare and gave me some ideas of what to expect.
Our road has an incline so our house is safe as far as flooding.
The way the storm is going I feel pretty well safe.
If things change we'll go with Hubby and stay at the Hospital.
I am sure we will loose power,  probable wind damage etc.  Hubby will keep me safe.
I will try to log on and keep y'all posted.

Thanks again for the prayers and support.

Adding my prayers to all the rest; everyone in the path of the storm has been in my thoughts and prayers all day, and now I'll add you and your family to Sunnytoday and her family as personal request type prayers.  :o)

Hope you can relax and get some rest.

If you're not evacuating stay indoors and away from windows, but you probably know that.  I remember our hurricanes in the the late 1980's, which the weathermen famously failed to predict.  All the houses on our street but ours were destroyed by fallen trees.  Terrifying experience.
The ground floor in the middle of the house or a basement is best, but make sure others know where you are, so that if your home is damaged they'll come looking for you.
Stay safe.

Hey all!
So far so good! You can check out my journal.... but really, we here are being quite spared the brunt of this thing, it's swung to out west and is going to hit New Orleans.

Since we are on the North Eastern Quadran we are getting the wrap-around bands of rain as well as tornadoes, etc. Our winds are only supposed to top at 50-60 mph which is really not that bad at all ( I live through the direct hit of Ivan-so it would have to directly hit again for it to scare me :)

We still have power, so that means we are doing quite well, hurricane wise. If you are a southerner, that means "you an't seen nothin' yet!"

I didn't sleep that well due to the tornadoe sirens in our area going off around 3 am and 6ish, and coughing the entire night in a sitting position.... but other than that we are quite good!

Send your prayers toward Lousiana, they are going to need all the heapfuls they can get!!!!!

I'll be sure to update later, but I feel a bit rough right now.

Sunnytoday Glad to hear you are safe!

I finally got some sleep this morning.
I am staying inside my house in a safe place due to the tornado warnings.
We also never loss power, just some flooding down the street.
So far no property damage.

Hubby went into the work around 6 am.

Since USA is the only trauma 1 center for miles around I am sure he is very busy right now.
He is now in his 2nd year as a surgeon resident.

He just finnished a 2 month rotation at the VA in Biloxi.  I hope all my Vets. that I go fishing with are ok.

Thanx again for all y'all support!
