more questions

does anyone have problems with steps/stairs?

When I  take the first step I think my foot is on, but it isn't and almost fall usually stumble. I'm not sure if this is because my right eye is acting up (again) or my R foot/leg doesn't feel right or my balance has been shaky lately (7weeks on and off- if I'm lucky I'll get part of one day with mild sx like tingling on right side) I lean to the right when I walk

hopefully my insurance will give me the ok soon to see the nuero. I've been waiting 6 weeks and slowly getting worse and new sx like my throat feels like its on fire. I 1st thought I had heart burn until I took a drink of cold water. or the bladder problem-   urgency, but once I get there I have wait, then when I go it doesn't change the color of the water, and sometimes there's leakage.my bowels are staring to have the same problem. this bladder problem originally showed up 6 years ago, my pcp couldn't find a reason. the problem resolved itself 4 months later.

last year, when my sx's got my undivided attention, my PCP gave me a physical (when he was testing my R knee reflex, I almost kick him in the head. I still feel bad about that its hard to find a doctor that doesn't suffer from D.U.M.B.) and took a lot of blood 8 vials and tested everything he could. everything came back normal except B12 and D3 they were both in the low range of normal. I noticed that fibro was almost non-existing sx wise. I increased my D3 supplement to 2000 iu and got 2 shots of b12. the fibro got worse once my b12 levels were in the high end of normal.  When I saw my pcp 6 weeks ago, more blood giving, everything is normal.

I'm not sure if this counts as a new sx, but this one is changing. for a little more then a year now, I've been experiencing numbness that follows the nerve above my right eye. it goes around my eye and moves down my cheek and stops on my lip. last weekend it changed to a electric type pain. it hung around 2 day (on and off through out the day) then disappeared. I still get tingling/kinda numb feeling down this nerve.

I have had trouble with stairs for a long time, even before I had any obvious balance problems. It could be a balance problem. The balance system has three parts: vision, somatosensory (mostly the sensation on the bottoms of your feet) and the vestibular system in the brain. All of these can get out of whack in MS.

If you don't know where your foot is, it could be a proprioception problem (i.e., a problem with sensing where the parts of your body are). There are other reasons people with MS have trouble with stairs, like weakness or spasticity.

I don't know anything to say about the other stuff unfortunately. I hope you get in to the neuro soon.
