MRI Impression

I just had a MRI w/ contrast done with following impression:
No evidence of metastactic disease to the brain.
Multiple small punctate FLAIR signal abnormalities which are of uncertain etiology. They could be related to sequela of prior infectious or inflamatory process among other etiologies.

Question: For a 48 year old male in remission from bone cancer (1980) What does this mean?

Thanks Carol...symptoms are really creeping up...but the real problem is getting an answer.  In 1980 I received a lot of experimental Chemos...The research dept at St Judes, which are in charge of the long term cancer survivor study, have not provided any light to my questions...I guess that is the hard part of being a "Investigation Subject"  It would just be a little easier to deal with the symptoms if I could put a name on the condition.
Thanks Again for your concern and solidarity.

Hi and sorry you are having problems.

We are not docs here - just patients who struggle with chronic illness and support one another with education and sharing experiences.

That said - I trust you have a good neuro who will explain your MRI to you.  It sounds like you have some changes in your brain that they don't know the cause of just from looking at your MRI.

AS we age - it's not that uncommon to have small lesions crop up - what is important is for your doc to know your complete history , symptoms, etc - that will help them figure out if these changes need more investigating.

Good luck and glad your bone cancer is in remission.
