MRI Protocol

Does anyone know the difference between this MS protocol for MRI:

www.mscare.org/cmsc/images/pdf/MRIprotocol2003.pdf and these:

MT-GE
Core spinal cord MRI
Sagital T2
Sagital PD or Stir
Sagital T1
Proton Density
FSTIR or MT-GE C and T spine
????
Thanks :)

That above Health Page compares the years (the link you gave was 03 only).
I've had those sequences above, except for the MT GE (not sure what that is).

Do you already  have MS? Tell us a little more of what you are looking for, and we'll do our best to help.

I find this webpage really informational where sequences are concerned.

You are very welcome. It's ashame different sequences were performed because they could have made good comparisons from 08 to 11.

Maybe this link will be helpful...

Thanks for that :) i understand...is that wat the neurologist was talking about when he said "mri of spine has not been done for specific spinal segments". ???? so they have skipped when doing the spine?

an MRI done to MS protocol involves "no skipping" of segments.  Everything is looked at........

You want a high powered machine.  Open MRIs often miss and lower powers also miss.

Hi :) and thanks for awnsering my post :) Yes i can see now i hadvthe old one.  I was diagnosed in 2004 without supportive MRI, clinical diagnosis.  I am having symptoms at the moment and want to have a MRI.  But want to make sure it is done in the best possible way, also i am a self pay patient.  My insurance company have refused to pay out my critical illness policy because i am not showing anything on MRI ! So i need to find these leasions ! :) The did find leasions in 2008 but the doc felt they where not in the right area ofnthe brain.  The report said from radioloy that it looked like inflammatory disese ?  Then the scan in 2011 didnt show anything but then they used different sequenses !  They have not picked anything up from the spine, but my neurologist said that radiology had not done the spine in " specific spinal segments" ???  So i need the next scan to be done with the attitude of looking for a needle in a haystack!  As i am having sympoms from the spine leasons!  Sorry how long this is :) I am hoping to have a scan in the nest few days.  Thanks :)) xx
