We had a similar program at the hospital where my neuro was in Florida. It was an all day seminar thing (from like 8 til 3) and featured several of the hospital's docs (including my own). It was really informative. I wish I had something like that in this area. I didn't realize how small a town we live in, until we moved here a few months ago! I'll have to check with the local chapter of the MS society...maybe there are some interesting lectures in bigger cities near me.
You are right though...I should probably use plane tickets for something more fun. If I can get up the nerve (and if my MS becomes "quiet enough") I'd love to travel outside the country. We'll see.
Thanks!
Unless you can fly for free like Ren, I think I would save the travel for something more fun!
The tracks have a theme to them - I think you can attend whatever sessions are of interest, though. The topics are all pretty similar to the things we discuss here, but it is always nice to have our knowledge confirmed by the experts.
I don't know how many comprehensive MS centers there are - this one sounds quite novel in its approach to treating all the needs of MS patients and not fragmenting the services. Louisville is only three hours from me so I had considered going and actually registered.
Our area just opened a Neuro Rehab and Therapy center that has a slew of services all under on roof - they don't focus just on MS, and include other neuro disorders. Amazing place, actually!
This expo caught my attention because I don't know of any other one day events like this specifically for people with MS. There are lots of health fair events, but nothing this specific.

Hey Lulu, I have a question. I went to that website, and was looking through the list of lectures...definitely sounds interesting. But I noticed that the topics seemed to repeat. Do you know why that is? Oh, I just looked again, and noticed that there were different educational tracks. Have any idea what that means?
I don't live near Kentucky, but I would be tempted to fly in to go to something like that. Unfortunately, I do not live near a comprehensive ms center.
Anyways, I am interested, but I am wondering if it would be worth the travel. I live on the East Coast so it wouldn't be like travelling across the country.
Thanks for the info!
