When should I go for new MRI

In the past couple of days I have been slightly worse than the last few weeks.
It started Saturday night.  I was awfully fatigued and my legs were acting up worse.

I have that drunk walk again and the leg spasms are worse at night.
After the ms specialist said he couldn't diagnose me but wanted to "follow" me I was wondering what that meant.

Does it mean he wants me to go in for a new slew of MRI's at some point or does he want me to call him when things get worse.

I can't help thinking about my rain getting worse while I am hobbling through life waiting for a doctor to diagnose me.

Honesty, I am at a loss and don't know where to turn.

Advice?

Thanks.

It seems like most Neuros like MRIs every year or two in people with Clinically Diagnosed MS.  In my opinion, most neuros that order MRIs with new or worsening symptoms "hope to catch and active GAD enhancing lesion." .

When I was not diagnosed, serial MRIs were every 6 months.  I went from one lesion to 5 lesions in six months.  I also had ON and TN, so they made the RRMS diagnosis.  The lesion load was stable at 5 six months after starting Copaxone.  The symptoms continue.  The plan is to do an MRI after one year on Copaxone (Dec so it is in the same year for the insurance deductible.)  I guess they will be yearly after that.

My opinion is to wait it out a little longer than " a couple of days". You could have over exerted yourself causing a recurrence of old symptoms.

If these are not new symptoms I would wait it out a little longer. My interpretation if "following" you is to watch the symptoms and see if they are worsening , changing or staying the same. IMO I doubt the doc meant a new round of MRIs at this point unless there is a drastic change in your symptoms.

I would call the office and talk to the MS nurse and ask her to document your symptoms, severity and how long you have had them.
