I qualified with out the LP but my neurologist was old school and would not diagnose me with out it. For many MSers it is negative.
No test really rules MS in or out. If it could be that easy. In the end it is up to the neurologist. I had one who said I absolutely did not have MS with all the tests saying yes to MS. I changed neurologists. He looked at her notes and said who is this person? He still took another year to diagnose me.

Allie, it's still not a certainty. I had mris in May 2013 and that was the radiologist's only impression. My ms neuro disagreed. In the end it is the ms neuro's decision alone.
Hoping you get answers quickly!
Radiologists write the MRI report. MS is diagnosed by neurologists, so it's ultimately their call. But McDonald Criteria is the standard for diagnosis (and the bete noire of so many in limbo land).
Personally, if I read that I'd want to speak to my neurologist before having what might be an unnecessary procedure. If your MRI truly is that conclusive, there's no benefit from having an LP.
Yeah, I would say so - you qualify without the LP. Pretty typical though - my neurologist had me do an LP too, even though I qualified without it.
