New MRI's (Pocket of Fluid Found On Spine)

New MRI's are complete:  No new lesions (thank goodness) but the optic nerve is inflamed again and they found a pocket of fluid, this is new (got the impression they were not sure what it is a pocket of).  My Dr. has ordered a Lumbar MRI also (waiting on insurance approval).  Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Thank you Melissa and I have a lot of confidence in my neurologist so he will figure it out. It just ***** playing the waiting game. I don't grill the nurses to much usually just wait to talk to the doctor.

Yea fun fun. Lol but dealing with everything ok. Not sure where the doc is going with this. The MRI was of the thoracic area. Not sure why he has scheduled the lumbar. Guessing he wants to see more.

If the "collection" is in you lumbar area then it's probably not MS related. MS attacks the central nervous system which ends at the bottom of the thoracic spine.

That does not mean that you eye issues are not MS related. It is possibe that you have two unrelated things going on. Isn't this stuff fun!!?!?!?!

Nurse said they did not think that it was a cyst or tumor.  That is why I don't think they know what it is.  But I just staying positive until there is something to worry about.
Thanks,

Ugh, insurance hassles are a pain! I'm wondering if the pocket might be a cyst. I would think that they would identify that fairly easily though.

Best of luck with the procedure!

First Time for me on the Lumbar MRI also.  But I glad that it does not seem MS related.  Means my DMD is working.  Probably just something else I will need to deal with.  But it is what it is.  Will deal with it as it comes.  Eye is not to bad, not like the first time when I lost the vision in my right eye.  Just more pain and pressure.
Will let you all know what the doc says after the Lumbar MRI.  Which the insurance has not approved yet.  Not Surprised at all.

The pocket is a first for me to hear of. Can't say I have heard much around lumbar MRIs either.

Sorry to hear your optic nerve is flaring up, I hope it isn't too painful.

The pocket of fluid would not be MS. What it is I have no clue, may be someone does. Sorry about your optic nerve.
