Candy, I hope things went well and that you're home and comfy now.
I've only had music during MRI once, and realized that pleasant though he may be, and calming, James Taylor is not the answer. Although they've given me foam earplugs, the noise level is only minimally reduced. First THWOCK, THWOCK, THWOCK, followed by BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, etc. I've had up to 2 1/2 hours of this. Music is drowned out, to be heard only between the sequences.
The last time I had a cervical MRI they told me I couldn't have music because the ear phones would be in the way. Oh well.
Good luck to you and everyone going thru all this. At least it isn't invasive.

Just to say thinking of you and hoping that it all goes well for you. The first time I had an MRI I was scared and dreading it but now after over ten MRI scans in the last year, they are fine and I just get on with them but I ususally have some loud music to listen to. The first time I asked for classical music and I realised it was much too calm and placid and so I now have something much louder.
Good luck
Love Sarah x
Hi Candy,
Let us know how you got on.
I normally fall asleep even with all the banging going on:)

I hope you get some answers, candy. I have never heard of the mask. Sounds scary to me!
I hope all went well with your fun ride........ and that you remembered to ask for a copy of your disc to bring home for your records.
As for me, I never am bothered by the close quarters of the tube, but then again I always loved to go spelunking when I was in high school.... yes, those were the good old days when we could take a field trip for geology and go underground. I'm sure nothing like that is allowed these days.
Dear Candy,
By now you're already in the Darthvader mask ( I refer to it as the Hannibal Lechter mask) and on your journey through the tube but you are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. I hate MRIs as well but ativan is my friend on those days.
Good luck and hopefully, you'll get a little nap while the ativan does it's job.
