Neurontin and my Snake Bite

Well, will certainly lighten up everyone's weekend!  Spent my Friday night in the ER with snake bites (4 in fact)
was weeding and they figure I grabbed the little fellow who was sunning and he freaked.  I didn't turn loose as I figured I had grabbed a bush with prickly leaves.  But checked all my weeds after putting them in the compost pile.

My hand was burning like fire and washed it off and went on with my inside chores.  About 3 hours later, I got 2 swelled fingers and called poison control.  Go to ER.  Ok, its Friday night, I know what THAT's like.  Meantime
neuro has ordered neuron tin for pain from spasms and picked that up along with my antibiotics, pain meds and
a sore arm from tetnus shot.  Got home about 2AM.

Now know why neurontin is tapered for 3 weeks!  ha ha  Took one as directed and my eyes never opened until 8 this morning and am walking like a drunk!  But had my first night of uninterrupted sleep in over a year...........

So, I'm fine, 2 swelled fingers, a lecture from poison control for not coming in sooner (I accept that) and am off KP duty in the kitchen for a few days (grin) and weed control (sigh) so hope someone got a giggle out of it!

Have a good week-end guys!

No Way!  Oh my gosh.  I know it would have been me that freaked not the snake!  I am so glad you are okay!  I'll tell you a funny.  When Jordan was in 4th grade he went on an all day field trip.  The next morning before school I was going through his bag looking at all the cool stuff he got on his adventure.  I saw this black and bright orange snake and I picked it up and said how neat is this?  Well, it moved and wrapped around my wrist.  I thought I was going to either need CPR or a psychiatrist!LOL!  Oh it was real!  It took me many attempt to try and get that snake out of my house!  I finally just threw the whole bag outside.  Jordan went with a plastic bag and when I called the school and told them he would be late that morning and why...well they got the giggles.  Jordan was laughing so hard but of course offered me no help!LOL  I was told it was harmless but scary the same!LOL  I will need to be more careful in my garden!  Wishing you the best!

oh my, that is certainly another good reason why I try to weed wearing gloves. But I l often take them off because I can't quite feel the weeds with the gloves on.

I'm glad the doctors took care of you and I sure hope you don't encounter any more friends in the bushes.

Oh I will definitely be "beating the bushes" with a stick before encountering any new garden chores!  The good news is that they felt it was a non-poison snake as the swelling was not really a huge huge and immediate problem.
