Copaxone 40- sleep aid?

Ok. Hello again. Day 4 was last night. Worst night for me so far. 3-4 hrs after injection. Heavy chest, nasea, chills, achey. No sleep. Bad headache.
1. Are these side effects coming on because The medicine is building up? And I can look forward to worse before it gets better?
2.. Will it get better?
3. How much time should I put into this? Give it a few months at least?
4. Can I take NyQuil to help me sleep? I'm sure my anxiousness is not helping .. Maybe if I slept through it all? I used to take melatonin but it says on the bottle not to take w/ auto immune problems.
Trying to stay positive. I'm sad though. I'm not used to all these changes. I need some positive reinforcement!!!

Thx corriel!
I loved what you replied by the way , to shel67. I'm still on a roller coaster. Nobody really understands. I don't have anyone in my inner circle with this.  My husband tries but I think he doesn't get why I haven't come to a peaceful place about it yet. It's been 3 months. To him.. (He's a stronger guy emotionally).. That should be plenty. He's worried about my anxiety levels. But I'm trying to just tell him he doesn't have to understand, but at least validate where I am today.. And that's all I guess. Not much he can really do other than that.
Thx again!

Glad to hear you got some good advice to help with the side effects.

I hope you have a great trip and try not to worry about the med while you are away.

Ok thank you .. I did call and all of those effects have been reported, but it's rare. He didn't seem to concerned and told me to try 2 Advil before the injection. See hoe the evening goes. I know my anxiety has been up this week also. It's contributing to the lack of sleep. Anyway.. No problems at all last night. Ss nurse said it may never happen again or maybe occasionally. You just never know. I guess e drones system adheres to drugs differently as we know.
I'm leaving sat. W/ my family for a week to go to the ozarks! A family gathering. I was nervous about taking the medicine there as I'm new to it all and having some reactions. He told me to go and not worry about taking it. I can re start when I get back. ( 1 week). He's understands my nervousness, I feel lucky. He's genuinely a sweet man.
So ... Crossing fingers tomorrow's night goes ok too.. Thx for all your inputs as always!

I am on the Copaxone 40, started in February 2015.  I know that the chest discomfort can be a side affect.  The MS nurse told me that it should happen shortly after the shot and only last 15 to 20 mins.  I did have chest discomfort and chest pains but that started a month or so into the shots.  I found out later that the chest pains were from Spasms around my esophagus.  I get them periodically.  I had sight reactions for a couple of months on the copaxone.  But once I stopped using the Auto injector  they also went away.  I also spay an antihistamine on the injection site right after the shot. (I manually inject know).  I also had trouble sleeping the first month or so, but that also went away. I still have nights that the all over body pain will keep me up.   As doublevision1 said make your neurologist aware.  I keep mine updated on anything new that is a major change.  I just call into the Nurse and give him/her the information and if it is anything important they call me back.  Lots of changes are happening at this point and you will adjust it takes time so just keep positive.  That is what I am doing.

I can't speak to the medication effects as I never tried Copaxone 40. I would ask a pharmacist about possible interactions with NyQuil. Perhaps a short term course of zopiclone (prescribed) would be helpful to you as your body adjusts to your new treatment. If side effects really aren't tolerable, let your neurologist now.
