New here.looking for others with the same problems

HI, I am new here.  Came across this and thought it would be good to get some feedback.  A little about me, I am 42 years old, Dxed in 2001........never had too many issues that I couldn't deal with.  BUT, for the last 2 months I have had episodes of a electic jolt through my head, with heaviness, then a feeling of nervousness, then comes along server fatigue that I have to sleep, even if I didn't think I had to.  I just fall asleep.  It is like body/mind went haywire and exhausted itself.  These episode are anywhere from 2-10 minutes long.  They come out of nowhere, I don't know it is coming.  My Neuro put me on Zoloft and Clonazapam.  Anyone else ever feel this?  The meds are not helping, feeling frustrated.  I have no life at this point.

I'm wondering if what your experiencing are seizures of some type.
Certainly worth discussion with your neuro.

Hi Candis - Welcome to the group.

Body and mind going haywire is a pretty good definition of MS :-) Given that MS is a progressive disease you may be experiencing progression.

It sounds like these are new symptoms. If you have discussed these symptoms with your neuro, and he prescribed the Zoloft and clonazepam, I would tell him that the meds don't seem to be working.

There are many drugs available to deal with the many faces of neuropathy. It can often take some trial and error to find the right dose/combination. I went through several doses and combinations before finding the right med mix to deal with my nneuropathic foot pain.

Talk with your doc and let us know how it goes,

Kyle

Have you ever heard about a pain clinic? They are better than neurologists in dealing with pain. Your other option is to tell your neurologist the drugs are not working. Have they tried Lyrica or Gabenpentin,or Trileptal? No drug works on all people. If you have a good GP and they are more convenient you can try that for pain meds. Unfortunately there is no magic bullet
