Definitely, Ruby Falls sounds like a place to visit, on my list if I get to TN, wow!
I grew up in Roseburg, and we would float the Umpqua River in inner tubes. There were many rivers around the area that were wonderful for viewing and playing in. Lots of springs and waterfalls tucked away in the woods, ahhhh. When we would go camping we would detour to this wonderful spring where the water was so sweet and clear, and fill up gallon jugs with it.
My brother drove his station wagon to the ocean, bicycled back, then kayaked all the way to the ocean. That must have been some trip! I'll have to ask him if he took pictures, all those years ago.
Up here by Portland, we have the Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah Falls, Horsetail Falls (I think that's the one with the shallow cave behind it if you hike a trail a ways back) and many more that I can't remember the name of now. Farther east up the Gorge, there are great places for wind and kite surfing. Great to watch, but my body couldn't handle that stuff!

Yes the Oregon caves are nice. I last saw them in 2001 when I was out visiting my brother and mom. I also love the waterfalls up there in your neck of the woods. What is it 7 miles of them?
What I'm really looking forward to is going to Ruby Falls here in TN. It is a 145 foot waterfall inside of the caves. So if you make a trip this way make sure to put it on your list of things to do.

I loved you pictures! I've never been to Mammoth; looks like I should! We have the Oregon Caves here, but they aren't as impressive. Thanks for sharing them.
I hope you're healing well, and doing well weaning yourself off the pain meds. Take care,
Kathy
Thanks for sharing, Dennis.
I think anytime we are distracted by doing things we enjoy our symptoms get push back into the recesses of our conciousness.. Too bad we can't all spend our days doing things we enjoy!

Dennis,
Thanks for the beautiful pics of Mammoth! I went there years ago & it was breath taking. Hope you are healing well from the knee surgery.
