Optic Neuritis or Just More Fun?

Hi all,
I did not present with classic ON symptoms, though I did see flashing lights a few months ago when my symptoms started.
Today, I was using a heating pad for my back/legs, which are in terrible pain, so much that walking is hard, and my eyes started to feel like a burning/vibrating sensation. Does that sound familiar to anyone here? I immediately stopped using the heating pad, thinking it might have set me off in some way.

What I have personally expierienced is, my eyes burn a lot when I get really really tired and heat makes me really tired.  So, maybe the heat from the heating pads caused you to be the same way.  I get waves of tiredness that washes over me and I can barely keep my eyes open.  I almost need toothpicks.  I struggle with that a lot lately.

I had 2 weeks of time recently that I felt much better but now it's back again.

Thanks for the reply supermum. I would think it was an irritant too, but it comes on in these intense waves....like 30 seconds of odd vibrating, itchy eyes.

Hi i've not personally ever heard of ON described as burning/vibrating sensation before. I dont know if its just me but I think burning could be anything from dry eyes to an irritant. If your eyeballs were vibrating enough that you can feel it, i would be expecting your vision to be more pronouncely double as well.  Your saying eyes meaning both, it just doesn't sound like ON enough to me, i'm thinking it could be more like an irritation eg pollen, dust etc

Thats my 2 cents but maybe someone else has a better idea.

Cheers..........JJ
