going through the tests

I have just stated my testing about a month ago for MS.  I am a single mommy of a 3 year old. When am i ever going to get a real piece of mind.  I feel like i am going crazy doctor after doctor looking at me like it am nuts.  I am a 34 year old normally healthy mother.  I am not a drinker in anything. It started first with pelvic pains.  then one day moved too my legs very numb pins and needles..  and still has continued no stop aches and i just can't get relief standing is not always in the cards for me.  And my feet hurt
i am depressed and have been on pills just over a year all this weird stuff just keeps coming and coming.  my mind feels thick and i am talking a forget the simplest word that i probably have know for at least 33 years
anyways i am scared and tired and angry...   i am always tired cause i don't sleep at night maybe 2 hrs here and there

We've all been where you are :-) Sorry your going through this.

The usual list of tests associated with an MS DX includes:

C-Spine MRI with and without contrast
Brain MRI with and without contrast
Lumbar Puncture (spinal tap)
Multiple Blood Tests (to rule out MS mimics)

These tests are combine with a clinical exam to rule MS in or out. I found it very helpful to write things down, like symptoms and time frames. hat way when I was with the doctor I didn't have to rely on my memory. I just read my list.

Have you found a neurologist that specializes in MS?

Kyle

Thanks again so much !!!
I have done a ton of blood work over and over again.  I will start writing stuff down though that is a wonderful idea cause we all know how the mind can be LOL.
I have not found a Neurologist that specializes in MS yet.
i am waiting for the tests to be done and come back i will go from there.

I am scared really scared.  i Have never felt this way and I worry about my son i am a single mom.  But i know for sure in my heart of hearts there is something serious going on with me

First of welcome to the forum but I am sorry that it is your health that brings you here. Still the good news is that you have found a great place to be among people who really understand and you can be sure that someone will have probably experienced something similar.

It is very scary and worrying when you are in limbo land and don't know what is going on and it feels like you are a piece of meat being passed from doctor to doctor. I am wondering what tests you have had done so far and if you have had an MRI yet? I hope that you have been given some indication of all the tests that they will do and when you will see a neurologist to discuss their findings.

Hang in there, keep us posted how you are getting on and keep an open mind..there are many mimics for MS and it can take a while to get a diagnosis if that is what it may be, as it requires elimination of other conditions.

With best wishes and a warm welcome

Sarah x
