Congrats on quitting smoking! I would definitely recommend that you talk to a general practitioner and/or neurologist about what's going on. Tell them you have weird symptoms and questions about your MRI. Mention that this accident doc brought up MS. The accident doc may be full of poo, and he needs to be called out if he's running around scaring people.

Brain lesions can be caused by migraines, smoking, ageing, diseases such as MS, and lots of other things. Only a trained neuro can tell which is which, and even the best neuros sometimes can't tell what caused a particular lesion. To get real answers, you need to get to a neurologist.

Good luck and keep us posted.

thank you so much for the imput ive kinda been freakin out about it  but wasnt sure if i should  i just seen the accident doc yesterday he was the one who mentioned the ms and it also was him who requested the mri ive had the numbness for a while but not the headaches  and i always assumed the numbness came from smokin so ive quit recently but in fact have noticed more numbness so im tryin to get into my pcp asap  i guess my main question was is there other things that can cause the mri to look that way     thanks again for responding

Crystalm,

Welcome to the forum. Please listen to Jane's good advice, and go to an MD and describe what you are experiencing. Was this the hospital who ran the imagine after the accident?

Regardless, a follow-up with an MD is in order. You have migraines which can cause white matter/brain changes, and you have numb feet. Maybe some vertibrae or something in your back is tweaked from the accident.

Some people, even those in hospitals throw around MS to patients after imaging reveals lesions. Please know not all lesions are from MS, or a demyelinating disease.

I'd go to an MD for a thorough check-up from the top down.
Feel well soon,
-shell

Regarding the migraines, a doc may he able to help you manage them or provide medication to reduce the frequency and severity. I know they can be debilitating and I'm so sorry you're dealing with that.

You should talk to your primary care physician about your new symptoms (especially the numb feet). If you don't have a PCP, try to get in to see a neurologist. If you have a copy of the old MRI, take it with you. Tell the doctor that you are experiencing numbness in your feet and want to.find out what is going on.

Don't be afraid. We'll help you through this. Many.of us here have experienced the fear of the unknown that you are going through now. Whatever happens, you'll be okay. I promise.
