Hi all,
Thrilled to report 1st epidural injection was a HUGE success.
I wish all the best to the rest of you for speedy recovery from surgury JB (pain free for you soon I hope) and to all for procedures, imagine, or just some good old fashion rest and relaxation.
Wishing you all the huge break I just received. May you all have some better days ahead of you.

Spent yesterday at the hospital getting tests and fluids. They told me to come in then I had to wait an hour with my head between my knees in the waiting room of the clinic. Then another hour in an exam room before being accessed. The Doctor took my resting pulse and it was 140. Then it took another hour to set up fluids, then the nurse left and the machine jammed and no one came back so it was another half hour for fluids to start. Then I came home followed their instructions and started vomiting something I had not been doing. They wanted to admitt me but I kinda feel like these folks do me more harm than good so declined.

Well, once again, I'm late to the party...*sigh*
Work, babysitting, and this weekend is International Field Day in the HAM radio world. I'm KI6GWN, and our club does ours from noon to noon, including a big potluck dinner Saturday night. We've got a bunch of foodies in our club (myself included) showing off our mad culinary skills. My farthest contact was Vermont (I'm in California), last year, on 40 meters. We'll see what I get this year.
I haven't been on much lately, and I'm sorry about that. I go to work, come home, fix dinner, eat, and crash. I have no energy to get online, let alone see what's up with our forum family. :-(
I need a vacation, and I won't get it until October, though I'm doing a weekend paddle on the Tuolomne at the end of this month. Rafting is the best!

I am also off for the summer, but the kids keep me busy. The biopsy came back benign but with the stipulation to get it checked out for changes every 6 months. Everything seems to be okay, though it's too hot outside to do much even with a cool vest. Arizona, it's expected, so not big plans, a little training, a little cleaning, some pool time, some planning and prep work, reading, and trying to get myself moving.
This is the first day of my second week of being laid off from work. I barely did anything last week. I was exhausted and I have been pretty depressed about being laid off (even though I really need a break from work) I have all of these things that I need to get done but my nemesis fatigue and the heat has gotten in the way. So I am chipping away at my never-ending to-do list at a snails pace. I'm thinking about giving Provigil another try. Have a good week everyone!
This has been another rough week for me. Ever since I returned fro my 2 week stay in hot, humid south FL, I am having so much difficulty walking. The last Time this happened it took me almost 2 months to return to my wobbly normal, right now I really need my rollator whenever I leave my house. I am so frustrated.

I didn't post to much because BT was my focus, the waiting period for his status was my concern.
I knew that I hurt my back again a couple of months ago, I know the neurosurgeon, I've done a little construction work for him.
When I called the office and requested an appointment they were booked, I emailed the Dr, he got me in the next day- then the fight for MRI began. He really didn't want to drive down to GA.
He offered the shots & PT- I've been there and done that and it didn't work before, he did say I would have relief once the pressure is removed, the herniated disc and the stenosis is the problem - but the pain from surgery would remain for two weeks or so.
I can't walk- sit- sleep or even go the bathroom without pain.
This is my second back surgery, first was in 2008. I still have the disc problems in my neck.
For awhile, there is no lifting- bending. I have someone to cut the grass for me. We have moved things in the house the best we can, my wife will be at work most days- and I won't drive for about 4-6 weeks. BUMMER.
think I about covered it all.

wow, JB. That is pretty quick to get scheduled, isn't it? Or in my craziness here I have missed your discussing surgery as the best option. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
On Wednesday I'll have back surgery on L3.. since surgery is at 2pm they want me to stay over night..
I have DDD in the lumbar region- then I have a new herniated disc that occurred a couple of months ago. The Dr's office had a hell of fight to get the MRI done. THe Dr knew what was effected, but needed the MRI to confirm how bad it was.
If anything is good about this surgery they don't cut any muscle.
Here's what they are doing.
In a microdiscectomy or microdecompression spine surgery, a small portion of the bone over the nerve root and/or disc material from under the nerve root is removed to relieve neural impingement and provide more room for the nerve to heal.
A microdiscectomy is typically performed for a herniated lumbar disc and is actually more effective for treating leg pain (also known as radiculopathy) than lower back pain.
Have a great week everyone.

Tammy, that all sounds good. If you ever care to share, would you start a thread about neuro rehab and what you do in those sessions? There are many people here who are curious about what that involves.
Kelly and Jumpin'- sure hope you get good reports from the doctors. Keep us posted.........
Hi Lulu,
I have an appt with Barb's neuro (Sidesteps). My neurologist is in Ireland, and he wants me to see her while he's gone. So, I'll be seeing Dr. Kita tomorrow.
Then I have neuro rehab (cognitive) on Tuesday, and PT on Wednesday! (I'm tired already.)
I hope everybody's week is as pain free as possible. I know that in addition to MS, many are going through other, awful trials. My heart is with you...
Tammy
Have a follow up with doc to go over GI tests to pin down these diaphragm spasms. That's about it for me.
Oh my gosh, to be off for the summer - that would be sooo awesome!
We had new wood floors put in over the weekend in the kitchen. There's one piece that was damaged, so they'll be coming back tomorrow to finish the floor.
I'll be working all week (if I can). My legs & hips have really been hurting and feeling extra weak lately.
Fri is my follow-up visit back at my oncologist. Hope she has some answers for me - one way or the other. I just want to know for sure.
Have a good week everyone.

This is my first week off work for the summer and the timing couldn't be better. I have a massage therapy appt. on Monday, nuclear stress test for my heart on Tuesday, and will go with DH to his cardiology appt. on Friday. I'm hopeful there will be some time to just relax, but we'll see.
