I suppose that seizure activity could explain the loss, but I think it's more likely that you're having memory problems from some other source.
I was looking at seizures as possible reason for memory loss. I've had a couple instances only where I had spasms strong enough to consider seizure for muscle issues. I practically bounced out of bed one night. Lasted about an hour. Other spine twitches were mild and are gone at this time.
I told my GP that if I could control where the spasms occur I'd be ok b/c at least I'd be in shape... :)
My weak side the foot turns in and I suspect my ankle gives. I'm still trying to recover from the last double-fall when I broke my big toe.
Hey, you said seizure area? Are you getting involuntary contractions of the torso?
I get myoclonus of the spine, which causes my spine to contract or extend, and looks a little seizure-like if you're not actually experiencing it.
We're symmetrical creatures, so it would make sense that if you have a lesion in the spine, then you'd get symptoms in both legs, or both arms, depending upon where it is. And it won't be the same symptoms - one side might have more damage on the sensory nerve, and the other side has more damage on the motor nerve. So you'll get paresthesias on one side, and weakness on the other.
Cobob sez that the lack of sensory nerve input can cause spasticity. It's the muscle trying to figure out where it is, so it tenses up so the brain can find it. That would account for my foot spasms, but I don't think that's what causes the spasticity and weakness in my leg.
I get the weirdest leg symptoms. I have weakness and spasticity in my right leg - the leg wants to fold up, so I turn that toe out so the knee won't bend. Then the calf and hamstring are really tense, so it feels bouncy and stretchy, and the knee won't straighten out.
I have a lot of spasticity on my left hamstring that causes tight contractions on it and has led to weakness. Then I also get quick spasms on the lower part of my front left thigh. I also have a lot of weakness on my adductor muscles and I get spasms in those, too.

I'm curious also. My weak side is right, but I keep getting muscle spasm and cramps in my left thigh. I do have bad weakness in both legs though, but still weaker on the right. I hope to read what other people have experienced with this. My brain & c-spine MRI are clear though, so not sure how my lower spine looks, any thoughts?

I have weakness on my left side but my spasms are almost entirely in my left leg now. Several times daily.
Hi, do you mean for instance, if your left leg is weak, then you are having spasms on your right leg? Or do you mean something like your left hamstrings are weak and you are having spasms on your left front thigh?
-Kelly
I hope that someone with better info will chime in. But I have read that spinal lesions can sometimes cause different symptoms on opposite sides. Wish I had more info, well, even just explain the info I have better....cog fog. after the busy week.
