Headaches and MS

Does anyone have constant, severe headaches?  Because I am dealing with a closed-head injury as well as the MS, I am not always sure what is causing the symptoms.  These began November13, 2009, the day I was assualted, and has continued to this day with only very brief periods of relief.  Can MS cause these headaches, too?

Sorry to hear about all your headaches.  For me personally, my migraines are worse in the spring and summer; also I do believe this is related to MS.

My most painful symptoms are in the head and neck with my MS.

I first started with migraines at the age of 9.  I have been living with them for 40 years...and they are the worst.

I used to have to use Imitrex pills & shots, but for some strange reason, my migraines have changed slightly in character, as I used to always get sick with vomiting, but not anymore....

Feel better....

P.S.  I saw some statistics online somewhere that headaches in MS are 50%, if I remember correctly....

I have headaches sometimes. I wonder if sometimes they come from the dmd. Had a doozie the weekend that went up the side of my head and behind my eye and I ended up very sick to my stomach.

Probably not good to assume the origin w/your history. Can you call the reg. doc?

I am now going through my monthly ordeal of being out of my nine  generic migraine pills I am allowed every 32 days. I have headaches all the time and have had them as long as I have had MS. My MS Specialists all shrug when I ask if they are part of MS. Ironically my insurance will pay for me to go to the ER for a shot but I never have gone that route. American Health Care is so penny wise pound foolish. Oh well that is my headache rant.

Oh yes!  In fact I'm nursing one right now!  I get migraines which comes in clusters of about a week.  I don't know if it's related to my MS, but I can tell you that I've had them before my diagnosis and they aren't pleasant!  

Ask your neurologist to find the cause for them, so that you can get the appropriate treatment.

Sound more like post-traumatic headache syndrome.  
Its too specific to the date of the assault.  
Seek counsel of a physiatrist (physical medicine MD specialist) about treatment and meds.  Supposedly, Topramax if helpful for prevention of HAs but only MD could advise.

Headaches are common with MS apparently. I  get them often, drives me bonkers. I was also diagnosed with atypical migraines rather than MS for 3+ years because of it.....

so, yeah....
