steroids made symtoms worse

I would like to hear if any one else has experianced bad side effects from steroid treament?

I have been in a really bad flare and was put on Prisidone but suffered badly with the side affects. I now have swollen cheeks, tingling and burning legs and feet feel damp sometimes. I will never take them again its been worst than the MS symtoms. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has suffered simular.
I was only on them for four weeks and the doctor told me it was unusual for this to happen.

Thanks tarter.

That's what I was thinking, tarter.   You are getting a teaser dose.  :(

We do have several members on here in the UK.  I am not too familiar with the medical care there.  Sorry.

Do you have a neurologist?  You should not have to suffer...

Hi everyone thanks for your comments. I took 30mg 6 tabs aday highest dose.
My heart was racing and I couldn't sleep. I have been in remmission for a long time and now it came back even worse. I'm also worried that I might have caused some damage to adrenal glands. My tempreture is in fee fall and the numbness is much worse.

My face is ot so swollen today which is encouraging and I can feel my cheeks again.
Its quite hard in the UK with MS the help is not so good, I have to go private for help.

Thanks again for your help tarter

I agree, Sumana.  I thought I heard somewhere that if you are in a flare and given a low dose steroid, it can make the flare worse?

Yup, I would talk with neuro....

I think the steroids were not strong enough.  So you are probably still in a flair.  I usually take l,000mg for two or three days.  In a bad flair my neuro gives five IVSMs.  I think you should call your neuro.

Hi, tarter-

I am sorry that you are going through a rough patch right now.  You were on the steroids for four months?   I assume it was in pill form?   What dosage were you taking?

During a flare, it is very common to be given SoluMedrol (steroid).  But this is usually given through IV for either 3 or 5 days.

Hope you feel better soon,
Addi
