It has been a long day.  I had several phone calls from the Manufacturer? of Copaxone, and I felt as if I was being led down a golden path.  Gonna wave to Dorothy my next trip around.  Shared Solutions was the name.  They were taking charge of my Copaxone delivery.  I live on a main drag which is not conducive to safe delivery.  On top of that, I believe we must have the worst FedEx delivery person ever.  Even if a sig is required, I have found packages dumped on the front porch or in the back yard.

So - I called BCBS and was able to find out from where this could be dispensed.   Hellooooooooooo Walgreen's Specialty.  I can now have that pharmacy dispense this medication and have it delivered to the pharmacy where I usually pick up any medications.  So take heart fellow new MSers.  There is help after all.  And even if it did take all day to find it, I did find it.

Exactly what I found, Lulu.  It took hours to get it straight.  why?  I told them of my delivery concerns early on, and they basically indicated that it did not matter too much.  It is a relief to finally get a delivery method that can meet my needs.  You might find, however, that a local pharmacy is willing to couch your delivery.

Most of us have found that even though it suc ks the hours out of a day, the time spent with the pharma companies can yield great results.  Often you just have to be doggedly persistant and keep talking until you find the right person who can help.

I have to use the specialty pharmacy and have UPS drop the boxes on my porch.  No choice for me through Anthem Blue Cross.

Check  with your insurer and see if they work through special pharmacies connected to a local pharmacy branch.  Either that or see if you can have it directly sent to a pharmacy you use for all your other meds.  I do not know if or how it might affect copays.

Ah, that's great.  Aetna makes me order Betaseron through their mail-order, and get it delivered to my house, which means that I never get it on time.
