Talking Books - Reminder

For those who know, a reminder, for those who don't, an eye opener.

The Federal Government offers FREE talking books in both cassette and digital (digital is super) form and they provide the players, to those who are blind and the physically handicapped (for us, mostly those who need large print to read)

Contact your local State Library or contact me (if in USA) and I can give you the library number for your state.  You need a letter from your eye doctor saying you need large print to assist you in reading.

I've been with this program since about 2004 and it is fantastic!  Postage is free in both directions and I take my digital cassette machine in the car and use my inverter to play them when on long trips.

I have an app that prompts me to read my Bible every day.  Pretty often lately, I click on the little speaker symbol and let the recorded audio version do it for me.

Adobe Reader XI contains a "Read Out Loud" command, but it only works on certain types of PDF documents, not those that are essentially image files.

I use this service and it is great. It keeps me from going insane when I am bed bound with chemo.
