thanks everyone - of course i look forward to what the neuro says - but have to wait for a month to see them hence my request for any info from here while i wait. I am in the midst of changing neuros hence the longer wait. (the last guy never looked at my mri scans, and ignored what this finding was).
I have had two mri's now within 2 months of each other. And the radiologist has requested another one in 6 months.
Argh, i hate waiting.
We can share our thoughts and experiences on this forum, but it seems to me that the best thing for your piece of mind would be to pin down your neuro and get their opinion. Here are a couple blog posts from a neuro's perspective about the problem of distinguishing MS lesions from tumors that might be useful for you:

I hope you get some firmer answers soon.

My most recent MRI showed a 10mm lesion... there is a pic of it in my profile. I say its the one my sanity leaked out of. My neuro says its the one that confirmed my diagnosis as it was enhancing (active) at the time.

Hello,
Seems like in the being of the process they were concerned for me also for a possible tumor or cancer.
I posted in my pictures a copy of my MRI report its the picture called
"shown is my large lesion and enhancing lesion"
My one lesion 5x7 considered large, how ever I've learned its the location. location , location and the shape of lesion that really matters.
How many MRI'S have you had ?
After my first MRI, I had a follow up after 2 months, and repeated 2 after that, then 6 months.
From what I understand if its neoplastic it will change size or shape.
Waiting for next MRI in those early days was stressful..
I hope this helps .
take care

Well apparently it is 2 x 3cm - it is a mass lesion and they can't determine whether it is MS, or a neoplastic process, although they say, "becuase it didn't enhance or that it doesn't have positive mass effect, that a neoplastic process can not be excluded" ...
I have heard of tumefactive MS which have similarly large lesions ... but i am very confused and no one is really telling me anything. Will I have to go for a biopsy? I don't know.
Because I have very little symptoms except buzzing, numbness and a little dizziness, brain fog and fatigue, I doubt it's a tumor.
For years I had thought my MRI report indicated a 30-millimeter lesion, but then I go back and can't find that reference. Was it 3.0 mm? Is it an MRI report I don't have? Was it my MS mind playing tricks?
In any case, 30 millimeters (or 3 cm) is larger than average, but not unheard of. What's more important than size is where it is located, and someone may come along with some insight about the frontal lobe or "ill-defined borders."
