Thoracic MRI w/Contrast Showed a Bright Spot

I just had an Thoracic MRI w/contrast that showed a glowing bright spot at T12.  My doctor immediately ordered a full body bone scan.  What does a lit-up bright spot respresent . . a lesion?  I came to this board because I've been googling and MS appears quite frequently. Doc said after the bone scan I'll need a CT Scan.  I have several MS symptoms, but he did not give me a diagnosis other than major issues with my Lumbar MRI.
Thank you!

Hello Ren,

He's considering a bony tumor, osteoblastoma or metastasis.

Confirmed on my 2 previous MRI's:
Spinal Stenosis
T-5-T6 Buldging Disc w/effacement of the ventral thecal sac
Spondylolisthesis
Scoliosis
T3, 4, 5 - Disc protrusions

Other conditions confirmed:
Urethra Papilloma
Interstitial Cystitis
I have microscpic hemeturia and urgent and frequent urination
COPD - no symptoms
Tinnitus w/hearing loss
Migraines - at least 15+ a month
Headaches daily
Many UTI's
PTSD
Anxiety/Panic Attacks
Abnormal reflexes; none in my left foot, overactive in my right and everything above it.

I also have tremors, vibrations under my feet, burning sensation on
my back, numbness in my fingers, pelvic, groin and upper leg pain, a
feeing of bugs crawling on my legs, drop foot, stiff neck, feet cramps, and stabbing pain in my arches.

I haven't had my cervical and brain MRI's, yet.  He wants me to have the full body bone scan, then another CT Scan.

All of this, except for my migraines came on suddenly.  I had no need to
even go to a doctor for the past 10 years, and in the past 3 months I'm at 4 specialists or having tests.

My blood work has always been perfect and yesterday my results showed  very low Vitamin D, high cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol and high GGT.

I appreciate your welcome, and will find another board to read.

All the best,
~Sandy

Hello and welcome,

To my knowlege and to answer your question a bright spot on an MRI is a lesion. But a single lesion on T12 is not neccesarily MS. You mentioned lumbar spine. MS isn't known for lesions in the lumbar spine. Also, CT scans are not do for MS.

It sounds like your doctor is on the ball and ordering tests to confirm his diagnosis. I would politely ask what condtions he is considering.

Please  let us know what you what find out!
