Tired of the tingles.

hc1
Hi all.   I want to thank you all for putting up with me here while I'm still in limbo for a diagnosis.  My neuro is so confused by me and I will see him again in October.

My current issue is I am so tired of weird sensations!  Since the beginning of July, I have had tingling in both legs, bottom of feet, palms of hands. (See previous post worried about GBS).  Added to that by mid-July was tingling lips, almost feeling like they are swollen, but don't look like it.  I have pretty bad tinnitus.  Also constantly-random "numb" tongue, throat, right eye, whole face, part of face..  I say it's numb because it feels like it should be, but I can feel everything.  Some days it's one part, other days its another part.  The back and top of my head get tingly and have a pressure feeling sometimes.

I do sometimes get anxiety about these symptoms because I never know when it's something that I need to have emergently checked out.  So until I start drooping, slurring, am paralyzed, having a heart attack or bleeding to death, I guess I just stick it out.

Not sure I have a question in there, but I just needed to see if anyone can relate. Thanks again!

A cine MRI is needed to pick up Chiari 0 since the cerebellar tonsils are not herniated. Just something to consider anyway.

Thanks for your replies.  At my last appointment in July, my neuro looked at my MRI's and specifically said I do not have Chiari so hopefully he is correct.  It has never shown up on my MRI's or CT scans of which I have had many over the last 8 years.    Can that be missed that many times?

Thanks Alex- yes it is disconcerting!

The tingles are hard when you don't know what causes them. You could go on something like neurotin to lessen them. I am totally used to them now but at the beginning it was weird.

Chiari Malformation might be something to consider while in limbo land. It's a neurological disorder where the cerebellum (or more specifically the cerebellar tonsils) descends out of the skull into the spinal area.

There is no correlation between the length of cerebellar tonsillar herniation and symptoms or prognosis. The symptoms of Chiari 1 and Chiari 0 (no herniation) are due to the tonsils affecting the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow. A Cine MRI is a special MRI study to observe CSF flow.  Symptoms of Chiari Malformation can come and go as well.

This is an interesting thread about the possible symptoms of Chiari Malformation...
