LOL Mary. :-)
Went to see neuro & she's bumped me up to 80mg of Baclofen a day and making me take Klonopin at night (it's actually helping!!).
I have 2 different PT appts this week (Wed & Thurs).
And I have a dentist appt tomorrow morning.
Also, I'm going to see my urologist on Thurs.
Plus, I'm working all week. (Crossing my fingers that my work doesn't start to get on me for all my appts).
I went to see my primary doctor yesterday, and she signed off on a 2nd opinion for my MRIs to be reviewed at Johns Hopkins, so I FedEx'd my MRI CD to them today.

Lets see - PT three times this week - thyroid ultrasound on Wednesday and then followup with PCP on Friday to see how I am "handling" my dx. Oh and starting my DMD this friday - hopefully it goes well.
Morning!
Hmmm - Dentist appt for my youngest later today, work and home. No snow this a.m. and some moderation in the temps from the fridged we've had. I'm super happy about that.
Other than that - I'm working hard on getting limber with stretching. And, that's about it :)
Who else?
Sorry, I'm a terrible skite I know but the temperature is rising over here! lol
Blessings
Alex
So funny!!! It's too cold to run around naked where I live!
Have Fun!

I had a nice, relaxing weekend watching sports with my guys (hubby & 2 sons)! Today I went to my neuro because the stiffness in my leg has gotten so bad that it is becoming more difficult to walk. She prescribed me a new med: Zanaflex. I am getting very tired and frustrated trying all these different drugs that never seem to make a difference. I am not one to give up so I will try it and hope for the best!
I hope everyone has a great week!
Deb :)
Thanks DV, my appt was postponed once already because wife was ill, and now we're expecting a storm tomorrow.....hopefuly the Coquahalla Hwy (Hwy 5) won't be too treacherous.
Have fun with your bathroom remodel. We just replaced a toilet with one that the seat is higher off the floor, has the big oval bowl, and uses very little water per flush. The high seat makes for easier dismounting, and the large bowl makes an easy target...if you know what I mean.

SAFE travels, not save travels. you know what I mean!
I won't be going far. The balmy weather has abruptly ended and it's bitterly cold here now: minus 37 Celsius by tonight. When it's this cold there's no guarantee the car will even start. Last week the snow started to melt and now everything's frozen over and road conditions are treacherous.
Like jujuminx I am also inspired to get organized, and have more bags and boxes of donations accumulated, and a ton of stuff to haul to the dump and for recycling. I will keep at it this week. It's been a very cathartic process. :)
Just found out we've secured a contractor to do some work on the house, so I'll also be busy looking for inispiration online and researching bathroom fixtures, wood flooring, lighting, etc.
Mike: I look forward to your update and what you find out at your appt. Save travels to Vancouver.
Wife's bone density test Tue.
My gastro dr appt Wed.
Travel to Vancouver Thu for consultation with radiologist on Fri at AIM imaging. He will read my MRV disk from the False Creek CCSVI study I participated in the end of 2010, and tell me if I have the condition or not.

Mostly parenting stuff this week....long story. With three 17 yr olds in the house I am constantly watching, advising, talking, listening, coaching, etc.
Personally, got loads of stuff around the house I am working on. The new year has inspired me to get organized and give stuff away.
I continue to suppliment caretaking of some elderly and sick family members by providing relief for the primary caretakers.
Hoping to get back to this forum more regularly as well.

I'm hoping to hear from my neuro early tomorrow about the appointment they are setting up for me with the specialist. I saw my neuro yesterday to go over things, and they should be contacting the specialist today. In fact, my neuro's wife has MS and the specialist he is sending me to is actually his wife's neuro, so that makes me feel good.
At the check yesterday (my neuro works crazy hours) he said that he is encouraged that the vertigo has been stable for 2 days, so it is just a matter of time before it hopefully goes away again. In the mean time he is calling in a prescription for me to use if it gets bad. I most likely won't use it, because it is a Valium-based medicine (can't remember the name), but I thought it would be a good idea to have it on hand.
So, I just wait for the appointment with the specialist, which will be an all-day thing due to having a comprehensive MRI done at the same time.
Other than that, I'm resting as much as I can in an effort to get past this relapse. I'll be doing some research into other DMD, because my neuro believes the specialist will recommend I move off of Copaxone, so I want to research my options.
I also need to somehow get past this brain-fog because my classes start up tomorrow.

My sister will be visiting for a few days. My husband has been traveling. He returned Sunday night and leaves again in the morning. With him out of town my sons will visit a bit more often. In other words, lots of company which I love but little rest....Again, due to the fact I am nosy and want to know, hear, see, watch everything around me so there will be little resting.
I go for a modified barium swallow on wednesday food gets stuck all the time and I forget how to swallow is how I explained it to my speech therapist so she said maybe this will show something and help with the diagnosis process. Rest of week just taking it easy
All be well
Kat
Hi, hope you're well? Sounds like a busy week! Well, I'm waiting for my gp to arrange another appoinment with the neuro. Had a few problem's with my right hand/mid-arm over the past week and eye pain and this morning I had one of what I call my 'funny turns' where my legs feel really strange and I go dizzy so I'm hoping to get an appointment through soon.
I hope everybody has a good week. Take care all!
Hello, lu I don't always post on here but, I try. Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't post on here because I'm not dx. But, I know that I'm welcome to and so that helps. Well, being that I just got out of the hospital I think I need to cancel Aqua therapy for Monday. I need to also call nurology because I'm burning when I pee again.... Great another UTI. And, also get a prescription filled that they gave me samples of to try..... Also, try to find an ear, nose and throat doctor.... I don't like looking for doctors just pain in the butt.
I also have a colonscope on wedsnesday. Which I need to prep on Tuesday not looking forward to it..... Long week. I hope to keep my strengh up all week to get through it
Good luck with your appts this week lu. I hope u have a good week.
Take care,
Misty
Hi Jane. You want to run around neked with Alex's wife????
The normal stuff for me- work during the day and class Wednesday night (we get MLK Day off, which is nice). I'm also going to look into MS Centers in my area and cross my fingers that my meds get delivered. I want Alex's week. His sounds more fun.
Hope the week goes well for everyone :)
Jane
Hello medhelpers
I am on my 'second honeymoon' this week with my three kids now happily playing all week at the in-laws. So, the wife and I are going to take lots of vitamen B and run around the house without our clothes on, go to dinner, watch the new George Clooney movie and just spend some quality time together.
We mightn't have anything to say to each after 15 years together but it will be fun.
No doctors this week. I'm on day 12 of a purple patch and looking forward to it continuing.
Blessings to all
Alex
