many thanks for your reply life insurance is the only one i can get like you said that was not a problem, it was all the other that are a problem
i have had lumber puctures last one last year it was clear, the cat scan 5 days was normal ,blood test normal mo ultra  sounds or othe othe stuff you mentioned. This has been going on over 16 years upto 12 months ago I have been well for a number of years . this year has ben filled with silly stuff they even tested for heart attack when i was getting constand pain from my back round my chest that started slight and built over a few weeks till it was taking my breath away, then gradually over a few weeks went away, they said it was virol as they had about the pain in my legs that went on for months,, 12 months ago and the other day they thought i had had a minor stroke but i hadnt, all this makes me sound like all i think about is me but i work very hard dont complain very much as i know this could be much worse so i have just got on with it.  I will let you know what happens when i visit the hospital and thank you  I do feel much better today after having a few days resting and taking it easy

HAVAC
i have had a number of lumber punctures the very fist one was positive but the MRI was normal so they said they could not say it was MS. all the following lumber punctures have been normal with normal MRI 3 in all
i dont get a lot of headaches  and the numbness is there without them, double vision has been a problem over the years i have seen a Neurologists for a number of years last year they said to monitor my symtoms and if they continued they would see me again that was 12 months ago this time its has happend i might get reffered again, but my symtoms are not bad more a worry  that it is coming back he does specialise in MS though so thats good.

What Neurological testing have you had besides MRIs, Evoked Potential, LP? What about a basic Neurological exam, reflexes etc. Are those normal?

I have both MS and atypical migraines. With the migraine I go blind, go numb sometimes all down my left side. The difference is when the migraine pills kick in or the headache goes away so do the symptoms. With MS my vision problem is not blindness It is double vision for me it is permanent. There are only two vision problems with MS double vision and Optic Neuritis. The Specialist for Neurological Eye Problems is a Neuro Opthamologist.

Sorry about the possible MS keeping you from getting insurance most doctors are smarter than that. But I had an idiot Oral Surgeon tell my insurance I had cancer when I had broken my jaw. I told him I broke my jaw when a ladder hit me. He went it to fix it and after said "Oh you don't have cancer you have a broken jaw".

Your case in complicated to say the least especially with the infection you had. Are you being followed regularly by a Neurologist. Also Neurologists specialize. Neurologists who specialize in headaches are not MS Specialists. Few Neurologists are MS Specialists. There are over 800 Neurological disorders and over 30 diseases which mimic MS.

Sometimes it takes a while to figure out it . That does not mean it is in your head.

Life Policy?  I can see issues with heath insurance or disability insurance, but the life expectancy of someone with MS is about the same as someone with out MS.    There are several neurologic conditions that have the symptoms you describe.  Loss of vision for minutes sounds more like migraine disease than MS.  Hemiparesis (right face, arm, leg weakness) is pretty rare in MS.  It is more common in TIAs or Stroke of the Left Cerebrum.  Again, headache with a bloodshot eye, and right sided hemispherical symptoms are something that would point more to left hemisphere cerebral event.

With all you hospital visits, have they done an MRI or lumbar puncture?   Have the done an ultrasound of your carotid arteries and/or an OPG on your eyes?  Many of your symptoms point to a neurologic condition, but I would be looking for other things besides MS.

many thanks i did see a nurttologist 10 years ago but never got a diognosis but at a back to work health visit the gp said it was on my records as possible MS i cant get insurance as once they see my health record with the possible MS on they will only give me life policies.
I have gone nearly 10 years with very few symtoms these symtoms i have had are no where near as bad as they used to be, but it has scared me that it is starting again. I have to go back to the hospital in 2 weeks so will see what they say thank you for your support

They told me I had silent migraines as well. I can understand you can be scared and anxious. It is time to see a neurologist. What you are experiencing could be silent migraines, but it seems really bad. Please make an appointment with a doctor people you know trust.
