romberg positive

My question is if you have MS can you have a positive romberg test one day and then be negative for a long time afterwords?  My PCP did the test and he told me I was positive so he ordered an MRI with and without contrast.  The MRI was negative and since then I have repeated the test on my own and more times than not I don't feel like I am moving and my husband says I'm not either.  When it does happen I either feel like I am swaying, falling to the left, or that the floor is being pulled out from underneath me.

I just noticed that Wikipedia has a good description of Romberg's test, as well as issues relating to it.

Romberg's been positive for me as long as I've been aware of it, but it's worse some times than others.  I remain undx'd though, so the root cause is still open for debate.

Hi.
when i dx'ed in 1986 I had a posiyive romberg test.  I still have all the sensations that

you speak of , swaying, floor falling away,  I do walk to the right and wobble back and

forth and my gait and balance are way off. I walk into walls and hold on to furniture

to go where i want to.  I have never asked if it is still positive, but i am sure it is.

One to my largest lesions is sitting  right next to my optic nerve

Hope this helps.                                                   Linda
