Who declares it an MS lesion??

Ok, another question. Sorry I have an inquisitive mind. I know the radiologist evaluates the MRI images and sends the report to the Neurologist. So does the radiologist just indicate "normal/abnormal" or do they go into detail if it's abnormal as to what is there. Would they say there is an MS lesion or is that part up to the Neurologist?

One lesson learned from Hurrican Katrina is the emergency preparedness of medical records needs to be taken seriously.  Many hospitals and doctor offices were wiped out in the flooding and critical records destroyed.

Patients should always have duplicates of all the critical medical records to use as a backup.

lu,

My neuro also wants to read the CD himself.  Then he gives it too me to hold so it will not get lost at the hosptal         I think that is a good neuro

That's a million dollar question.  The radiologist SHOULD give details in the report that is sent to the neurologist, along with copies of your pics.  However, the reality is that doesn't always happen.

My last MRI report was so brief and generic I could have written it.  When I asked the neuro, he said they do as little as possible while still being able to bill for their service.

But I am a dx'd MS patient, and they know he will read the films himself.  He doesn't even want to see a radiologist report that will influence hiim and his view of my disease.

I hope that makes sense.
