My neuro recently had me do a sleep study. He was convinced that would be the answer to all my problems.
Turns out, he is somewhat right. I don't have any sleep apnea problems what so ever
but it was b/c of the sleep study that they learned I'm having seizures (5 of them during the study).
I was thinking my neuro was off his rocker when he suggested doing a sleep study, I didn't realize it could cause all those problems.
Interesting stuff.
I just received this email reminder of this conference and logged on here to post a note to everyone - I see Dr. Park beat me to it.
If you have not yet attended one of his teleconferences, this might be the one to try. He will be discussing the relationship of neurological conditions and sleep. We've kicked that same topic around here quite often.
If you can't attend this live, you will get a link to listen to it online at a later date.
be well, Lulu
Daisy.Girl,
I'm going to talk about most of your problem in tomorrow night's talk. If you haven't done so already, please register to listen in on the program.
I do not have sleep apnea.....but:
I recently had a sleep study and my results are REDUCED REM AND DELTA SLEEP and ALPHA WAVE INTRUSION into delta sleep. My understanding, I have 'awake' alpha waves firing during delta (deep) sleep resulting in non restorative sleep. As well, it took me 4.5 hours to ever get to REM sleep, then it was reduced.
I am diagnosed with Mutiple Sclerosis, Complex Partial Seizures, Pernicous Anemia, IBS, Severe Migraines, Scolosis, and multiple herniated discs.
Could this sleep disturbance also cause MS, Migraines, seizures and IBS?
