Is it ms or what

I really need some help.  I have been experiencing some strange symptoms since January.  I had light flashes and blurred vision after a bad infection.  This lasted about six weeks.  Then I started having tingling and burning on my face , back,   and neck pain.  I went to my neuro.  Clinical was ok, but since I was very concerned that it might be ms, he ordered a mri.  It came back normal. My back got worse, so I went to a neurosurgeon, who ordered mylogram with lp.  It came back normal. Since then, my arms and legs continue to hurt and tingle so badly and now for about a month, and now my teeth are so sensitive.  My back above my waist in the back burns all the time. The mri did show mild buldging in cervical spine, and a highlighted area on L2 to be a hematoma with lots of disc degenration and stenosis in both areas.  My question is, why am I having burning in my face and what is it with my teeth.  Is it related to my problems in my spine, or do you think it is ms?  Please let me know your opinion.  Thank you.

Hi there,
I don't think I can answer all of your questions, but hopefully others will see this and chime in.

I do hope you at least can follow up with your medical team on this.  MRI's and other tests can change over time.  Also, I think for something like MS, a lot of other issues need to be excluded.  Plus, you mention an infection, but it sounds like it was awhie ago....

I hope you are feeling better and that others here can offer more help than me!

I would suspect that alot of what you are feeling IS caused from the problems in your spine.  What is causing your facial and teeth discomfort may or may not be problems stemming from your cervical spine.

The one thing that stick out in my mind, is that you say you started having some of these symptoms after an infection.  That is suspicious for something like MS.  I agree with Wonko, I would keep checking in with your Neuro as you need follow-ups and regularly.  Your MRI's can change if this is indeed MS related.

I am sorry that I couldnt' have been more help.  Our resident retired doctor, Quix, may be able to give you more insight into these symptoms.

You DO have our support and concern.  Please keep us updated on how you are feeling.

Best Wishes,
Heather
