Brain MRI Result

Brain MRI Result:  There are several small foci of T1-weighted decreased signal intensity within the subcutaneous tissues of the upper neck and suboccipital region varying in size from 3 x 3 mm up to 9 x 7 mm.  These are seen as decreased signal intensity on both the T1 and T2-weighted images.  These do not have the appearance of a lipoma or cyst.  These may represent connective tissue tumor including neurofibromas.  It is difficult to determine with certainty if there is enhancement of these lesions.  CONCLUSION:  There are discrete foci of hyperintensity noted within the white matter tracks of both cerebral.

My current dx is fibromyalgia, neuropathy of legs, headaches, neck pain (burning sensation and limited movement).

Family history:  brother deceased age 46 subarachnoid brain hemmorrage secondary to hypertensive heart disease.  aunt deceased age 40 same thing    dad deceased age 56 colon and brain cancer  my son was dx with lupus @ age 8, my mom had lupus

My neurologist says to take this up with my primary.  What does it sounds like?

Thanks Bob.  I did some research and it does seem these can be benign, however, as one ages these can turn cancerous.  I appreciate your feedback

"These may represent connective tissue tumor including neurofibromas."  I'd think about finding a Neuro-oncologist to make sure that these are benign.  Not something I'd leave to chance.
