I have been diagnosed with Complex Partial seizures after a stroke like event, abnormal EEG, and history of strange numbness and periods of extreme confusion. AED's have improved the numbness somewhat, but I have had terrible side affects, worse then the numbness. I have never had a gran-mal seizure that I know of however, I have passed out and fallen many times at concerts, carnivals and clubs with lots of lights. When that happens, are those generalized seizures? I also am told by my husband that at night I shake in a high speed vibration, but not violently. When he touches me I respond, but I dont' remember these happening. I wake up confused and everything aches all over in the morining. Is this some type of seizure? Final question, Frequently I have "days of confusion" I am not myself at all during these times, and cannot give a start and stop time of any specific sensation. While I am like this, I cannot comprehend what people are saying, cannot read, I write backwords and I cannot tell if time is going fast or slow, or remember hardly anything. Could this be a cluster of seizures lasting for a few days This usually happens around my menstrual cycle so my doc thinks its just severe PMS. My neurologist has not been able to answer if these are seizures or not.
