Fibermyalgia

I started out having a feeling like my back was "tired" it bothered me to stand up, I needed to sit or lean against something.  I went to dr of course right away they want to give you pain medication.  I don't like taking any type of a pill, but over the past two years it has become almost unbearable.  I can't seem to get a doctor to tell me what's wrong.  I have been on pain patches and they do relieve the pain for a while, but I can't be on this stuff my entire life.  I bought fybrocream it seems to give me a little relief but only for about an hour.  I have had cancer 15 years ago and have dip one very well, no treatment was necessary due to the major surgery I had to have.  But this pain in my back is real and terrible, I can't walk very far it acts up, it sometimes feel hard to breathe.  Some of my family members think it is all in my head. Where can I get some answers?
