Memory Problems At Young Age

I'm 17 and consistently forget the same things over and over. Every day I take the teacher's keys to wash cups and every day I forget to give them back until prompted or I leave them in the kitchen. I constantly forget to clean up after myself. It's gotten to the point where the teacher asks for my keys in exchange so I can't leave with his keys, and my mom thinks I'm leaving messes around the house on purpose to anger her. Please help! Is this something serious? I can provide additional information if needed.
