Sharp 1 second shooting pain over the scalp???

Hello,   I have had this sharp shooting pain in my head several times within the last week.  I have never had this before.  It lasts about a second and goes from the back right side of my scalp shooting over the top to the eye brow area.  Any ideas what this could be?  What should I do?  Thank you in advance!

Do you have any problems with your spine in your neck?  My best friend gets shooting pains like that, though they've spread out and cover more than one nerve path.

Hers is called occipital neuralgia.  You can google it and see if it sounds like what you're experiencing.  Have you had a cervical MRI?

Good luck.

I want you to know that since January I have had the EXACT same thing. My pain starts right at the base of the skull on the rigth side, goes up off center of my head and lands smack dab in front of my eye brow on my right side.

Just to let you know, that was one of the first signs I was having issues with my upper neck and back. When that started, my pain on my neck and back followed and now I may have RA.

I don't want to scare you, but I could have used a magic marker and told you exactly where my headache would be every time.

Also, I was told, that where that headache is, was one of the "fault" lines in your head when you are a baby. How that relates to anything I have no idea.

It has happened to me to. So far there is nothing wrong with me. I also have never gone to the Dr. for it either. But if you are really worried go to the Dr. Could be a mild stroke. Good luck to you.
