Yes he has done the MRI and confirm it a cavernoma so far he has seen 3 doctors and Friday he is going to consult the public hospital doctor. The third doctor he saw recommended to remove it the other 2 wanted to wait and see. According to the 3rd doctor it is a common operation.
HI
What kind you unusual vein or artery? Do you have the radiologists' report, including the summary from the MRI?
The reason I am asking is my MRI shows an unusual central carteroid artery and my neurologist explained it pretty well. Actually, from what he said it is very rarely seen in patients unless they have had a major stroke. Since I have not, they have concluded it is a rare congenital condition. However, I went on Google using the info from the Radiologists' report to learn more about the condition. So your brother can try researching it online.
If that doesn' help your brother, then he should call his doctor's office and either speak with nurse or doctor. Usually, the nurse can translate the info, via telephone, to him in terms that are easier to understand, rather than medical speak. Otherwise, he may need to go in & follow up with his doctor. If he does go back in to see his doctor, your brother may want to make a list with his questions and/or bring you or someone else with him.
Hope this helps!
